Home Again
I've been home from vacation for about a week now. It has taken me that long to recover. My body seemed to keep up with everyone while we were gone (well, maybe not with my 2 yr. old granddaughter) but when I got home it seemed to crash right into the wall! I spent most of last weekend sleeping and doing laundry. Anyway, I do think we all had a great time. My family is great and I would rather spend time with them than with anyone else. We loved Palmer Gulch Resort and would like to go back next year if possible. There were many things at the resort to keep the granddaughters busy and entertained. On Saturday we went on a 1hr. 30min trail ride. I had not been on a horse for about 25yrs and after about 45min. my body began talking to me. It wanted off the horse. After an hour it wanted off really bad. By the time we ambled back into the stable area I didn't think I could get off at all but a kindly wrangler seemed to have anticipated my dilemma and he offered to help. I did survive but not without some aches and pains. Of course, we spent time at Mount Rushmore. It never ceases to amaze me. The two older granddaughters were fascinated. They were, also, very well-behaved and a pleasure to travel with. Traveling with a 2 yr. old was a bit challenging at times but she was always funny and did very well considering how disrupting traveling can be to any sort of schedule. My children gave me this trip for my 60th birthday present and it is definitely the best birthday gift I have ever received. Thank you all very much. I love you more than I can say.
